I had some sad news today. I received a early morning phone call from a friend telling me that our friend's (and my extended family member) husband died last week. I had not seen them for some time, but I understand that he was very ill. My heart goes out to my dear friend and her children.
I was sent an interesting site to view. It is Women's Media Center. There are a lot of blogs that you can hook into, including two with great names, Book Sluts and Obsidian Wings. I had been told about Book Sluts but never clicked on the sight. Obsidian Wings caught my eye because I recently made a necklace from a piece of obsidian gemstone carved into the shape of a donut. The color is dark brown and black, one of my favorite color combinations. I can remember when that that combination was a no-no. I later found out that Obsidian, like many other crystals and minerals, is supposed to have certain powers. It is said to "produce both insight into scenes in the future and sincerity in action.
