Valentine's Day and Empowered Women

mice in love I have stopped looking at Valentine's Day with dread. I did that for a while. When everyone says what are you and your honey doing for Valentine's Day and you have no honey, it can be tough for someone like me because I am girly. I love getting presents and I really love giving presents. It is truly the one thing I miss. I get the urge to buy "him" a present when I walk through the men's department of big stores.  I now find cute and funny Valentine's online cards from men (and women) without a 'honey'. Where do I find them? I don't have to look far, they find me by way of my many friends, who have chosen the same path as I have. Do men have a problem with Valentine's Day? You betcha http://ucomics.aolsvc.aol.com/news/cathy/

I never worry though, I know that I will get calls today from a few male friends who will remember what day it is, and say to themselves, "Ooops, I gotta call Van". They call between meetings, or on the fly out of the door. And that makes me smile and giggle like a girl because they remembered that, while I do not like candy or roses for Valentine's Day I do like to hear "Hey. It's Valentines day. Did you think I would forget?" Nope.Of course I didn't. I counted on it. You are my Valentine too.

p.s. When this is read by you-know-who(s) I don't wanna discuss it :-) Hugs and thanks.
