I am happy to see that New Jersey's Do Not Call law does work. I just read in the July issue of The Essex Times that a lawsuit has been filed against several companies and organizations who continue to call people who have signed up for DNC. As someone who would benefit financially from unsolicited telemarketing, I don't do it because it invades personal space and privacy.
If you are on the NJ's DNC list and you continue to receive these marketing calls, by all means go to the government's Do Not Call site at https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx and file a complaint. You don't have to give your name and telephone but it does act as further proof of the telephone call. Companies who make these calls are considered telemarketers and must register as such with the Division of Consumers Affairs. In doing so, they have access to telephone numbers of those who have registered with the DNC folks. These residents are not to be called by telemarketers. You can list your cell phone as well, but you must make the call from your cell phone. Take some time to read the information at the above site.
